Georgia Edna Harness Smith

THOMASVILLE – Georgia Edna Harness Smith, age 58, died on Thursday, Feburary 24, 2022. She was born in Marion, South Carolina, on Thursday, June 20, 1963, to George Travis Harness and Janice Edna Nealey Harness.

Georgia devoted her life to being a loving wife and mother to her children. Spending time with her grandchildren was near and dear to her heart. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter-in-law, Tiffany Denise Smith, making wax melts to help her grow her business. She also loved spending her free time poolside.

Georgia is survived by her three children: son Michael Joe Smith Jr. and daughter-in-law Tiffany Denise Smith of Houston, TX; daughters Janice Evelyn Smith of Houston, TX, Kimberly Renee Smith Fernandez and son-in-law Joseph Evelio Fernandez of Raeford, NC; 10 loving grandchildren; her sister Tammy Hill and brother-in-law Harold Hill of Thomasville, NC; brother Curtis Nealey of Conway, SC; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Michael Joe Smith Sr., sisters Wanda Faye Wright and Mary Sue Slayton, her father George Travis Harness, mother Janice Edna Nealey Harness and daddy Stephen Fred Johnson.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
