

John was born on February 3, 1936 in Davidson County to the late Marvin Eugene and Gladys Everhart Osborne. He retired as a cab driver and later worked for Carolina Business as a sander. John especially enjoyed traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway with his wife Barbara. He was also a member of The Well in Thomasville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Phillips.
Surviving is his wife, Barbara House Osborne of the home; sons, Marvin Osborne of Thomasville and Mike Carter of Thomasville; granddaughter, Autumn Carter and her mother Sheila Carter; sister, Frankie Patterson and her husband Darrell of Atlanta, GA; and brother, Roby Osborne of Trinity. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
A celebration John’s life will be held at 12 pm Saturday at The Well (formerly the Church of Tomorrow) 906 Oaklawn Drive, Thomasville, with Rev. Huey Turner and Rev. Eddie Mishoe officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 am until 12 pm at the church.
