Mr. Lowell C. Guin passed from this earthly life and entered into his eternal heavenly life on February 13 at Pine Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born to Leona Hepler Guin and Paul C. Guin on December 7, 1942 in Thomasville and had spent his life in his hometown.
Lowell was an active member of Oak Hill Memorial Baptist Church in Thomasville. He was a retired charter member of the Thomasville Rescue Squad where he served for 42 years. Lowell never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. His pastor, Gary Myers, and his church family enveloped him in love and caring and gave him many hours and days of fellowship. His friends at the Thomasville Rescue Squad and at Prime Lumber encouraged, loved and cared for him, as did many family and community friends.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Mary Neal Broos and husband Jim Broos and Jill Hunt of Thomasville. Also surviving are nephews Brian Broos and wife Maria, Brad Broos and wife Jennifer, and Scott Hunt. He dearly loved his grand nephew, Will Broos, and grand nieces, Ella Broos, Marley Broos and Lucy Broos.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Oak Hill Memorial Baptist Church at 3 pm with Mr. Gary Myers and Dr. Brooks Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm on Thursday at Oak Hill Memorial Baptist Church, prior to the service and at other times at the home of Mary Neal Broos, 317 Leona Lane, Thomasville, NC. Mr. Guin will remain at Thomasville Funeral Home until the visitation hour.
Memorials may be directed to Oak Hill Memorial Baptist Church, 1793 Tower Rd., Thomasville, NC 27360 or to the Thomasville Rescue Squad, 212 Pine St., Thomasville, NC 27360. Online condolences may be sent to the family through www.thomasvillefh.com.
The family would like to thank all the friends and family who have been so supportive, caring and loving throughout Lowell’s lifetime. Much appreciation is also give to the wonderful staff at Pine Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center for the care, concern and love they showed for Lowell. It has been said that “God gives us memories so that we can have roses in the winter” and Lowell created many rose gardens in many lives on this earth.
