David was a person that never met a stranger; he lived in the Thomasville/High Point area and loved sports. His favorite NFL Football Team - Miami Dolphins and favorite College Team Carolina Tar Heels.
David enjoyed having fun and always seems to have plenty of friends.
David moved to Florida in his early 20’s. This is where he met his wife Julie on spring break from Canada. David had 3 beautiful children. Olivia Rose the oldest and then David Julian and the youngest Nickalaus Cody, all grown and graduated from college.
David enjoyed his family and always wanted them around, especially at Christmas time; he too was like a kid.
David moved from Canada to Wilmington for a few years and then moved back to Thomasville/High Point area. But his love for the ocean was calling him. He moved his family back to Wilmington.
Then August 2009 David’s life changed forever, he was beaten and robbed and left for dead. But it wasn’t his time to go. David lived trough this horrible ordeal, but it left its mark. His brain seriously injured and paralyzed on his right side and couldn’t talk or eat.
God never gave up on David nor did his siblings. We moved him back to High Point to Triad Rehab Facility. For 3 years David lived in pain, but he never gave up and his family didn’t give up on him either. Again, David made more friends; even though he couldn’t talk he had that way about him that would draw people in. Doctors said he would be a vegetable, but David was anything but a vegetable! He learned to feed himself and actually take a step… amazing!!! God was so good to him.
David started having seizures and started regressing… he quit feeding himself, quit therapy and then a time later, his health deteriorated. He became very ill, and died.
We don’t understand the things that happen in our life, but one thing about it, our brother David is now at peace and without pain.
