Nancy Faye Joyce

Nancy was a student at the High Point Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and became 1st in her class completing as a Registered Nurse. She attended Davidson County Community College as well as Duke University to become a Physician’s Assistant. She went on to become the 1st PA to work in Guilford County Public Health. Nancy had been a volunteer at the American Cancer Society since 1997; was a member of the Ella Bunting Cancer Support Group. She worked in geriatrics, public health, and finally retired from Thomasville OB-GYN.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; beloved sister Laura Beth Sprye and her niece, Karren Joyce Chriscoe.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 39 years, Coy Joyce Jr.; step daughter, Kimberly Joyce Jones (Gene); step son, Aaron Dean (Samantha Sands); three step grandchildren, Trevor Jones, Haley Joyce and Ashley Johnson (Brian); and one step great grandchild, Thomas Johnson.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Davidson County for their kind support and special thanks to Nancy’s cousin, Jarynda Yates, for being her caregiver for the past few months.

A celebration of life for Nancy will be held at 2:00 pm, December 28th at Grace Lutheran Church in Thomasville.
