

A resident of this area all of his life, Jack was born on September 4, 1930 in Davidson County to the late James and Clara Moose Hill. Jack had worked for Thomasville Furniture Industries for over 37 years and was a member of the Pilot Lions Club for over 25 years. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army. Jack was also an active member of West End United Methodist Church, where he served in many capacities and was a member of the choir. Jack especially enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling to the coast, and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Hill.
Surviving are his wife of over 62 years, Ruth Floyd Hill of the home; children, Raymond Hill, Jr, David Hill and his wife Sharon, and Cindy Hill, all of Thomasville; three grandchildren, Jennifer Watford and her husband Matt, Tiffany Burrow and her husband Jeffery, and Whitney Hill; four great grandchildren, Kegan Watford, Madisyn Burrow, Camden Watford, and Jaxton Burrow; his brother, Donald Hill and his wife Jewel of Alabama; and his beloved Sheltie, Skylar.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at 2 pm Thursday, January 28th in the chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street, with Rev. William Mandelstamm officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Wednesday, January 27th at the funeral home and other times at the home.
