Born on July 17, 1932 in Davidson County to the late Herman Lee Powell and Mary Elizabeth Leonard Powell.
Raymond served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during the Korean War. When he came home he opened Powell’s Garage in Thomasville. He had a great love for animals and rescued and adopted numerous cats.
Raymond was in good health until his accident in October of last year that required two brain surgeries. He fought to talk and walk again until another fall left him struggling with seizures.
We are so thankful to have the time God gave us with Raymond and are happy to see him go home.
