Robert Gregory Small

Mr. Robert Gregory Small, 57, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Hinkle Hospice Home surrounded by his family.

Robert was born on December 29, 1957 in Horry County, SC to Johnny and Mary Louise Williams Small. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and riding horses. Robert was well-known for his small engine repair and working on cars, having also worked in the furniture industry for many years. He was also a member of Walters Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Small and brother, Johnny Dean Small.

Surviving are his wife, Tammy Robbins Small of the home; his mother, Louise Small of Lexington; stepchildren, Don Kinley of Lexington and Amy Harrison of Denton; grandchildren, Don Kinley III and Maddie Byrd; sisters, Sylvia McMillon and her husband Ronald of Asheboro, Carolyn Small and her husband Lester of Lexington, Kathy Bean and her husband Mickey of Lexington, and Joyce Jarrett and her husband Tony of Thomasville; and sisters-in-law, Evelyn Small, Debbie Robbins, and Wanda Dody and her husband Alan; brothers-in-law, Danny Robbins and his wife Kim and Ricky Robbins and his wife Phyllis. Also surviving are his mother and father-in-law, Sue and Paul Robbins of Denton; nieces, Hannah Danze and her husband Harrison ,Stephanie Jarrett, and Candace Robbins; nephew, Michael Chad Potts and his wife Tonya; four special great nieces and nephews, Lexie, Carleigh, Samuel, and Maxton; and special friend, Willa Mae Lambeth and her husband Freddie Hill.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 2 pm Thursday, October 15th at Walters Grove Baptist Church, 2610 Cid Road, Lexington. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Wednesday, October 14th at Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street, Thomasville.
