Billy Skipper I was thinking about you and Gersldine. I really believe that you can see and hear good things from Heaven. Billy Skipper Geraldine misses you so much and grieves for you with every beat of her heart. If I could only reach up to Heaven and bring you back to her I would but I know that you are happy where you are and there are not any long hours and nights in Heaven and that you are happy and waiting for your loved ones. Billy your boys are doing a great job with their Mom and their wives are so good and loving to her. I know you are so proud of them. The boys miss you so much and they and Geraldine could use some extra help from you and our Lord Jesus Christ. Look over them as I know that you are. We all miss you and if our wishes and prayers could bring you back to your family we would do just that. Don and I talk about you and Geraldine every day and have our regrets that you had to leave so soon. Only our God knows why. We will only know the answer when we reach this wonderful place called Heaven. I love Geraldine so much and I enjoy our closeness so much. God has blessed us and I believe that you had a part in this. You were and are the best brother in-law ever and more like a brother. Don and I love you Billy Skipper, and for now you will forever be younger than I am. We always had a good time over that.    I know that you are in Heaven with a lot of people that we love. Give mine and Dines baby a big hug. You and Dine always looked after his grave as if he belonged to you, baby Rex was so lucky to have you both. I appreciate it so much. Billy, I am so glad that I had the pleasure to call to say goodnight to you and Dine almost every night and I am so glad that I had the pleasure to talk to you and Dine that Friday night, a short time before you passed away. I want to thank everyone for there kindness and everything they have done for me and my family. My husband and I had a great love that will never end.we were together since I was 13 and he was 15 and our love grew as we got older.Bill was a great man he loved his family and had great faith and really loved our preacher Jr Seawell of Hilltop Baptist Church.  I will never have another love but my husband. We were meamt to be together for always . He told me he would be waiting at the gate in heaven for me and know for sure when God comes for me I will be waiting for Bill and I know as strong as our love was he will be there. I loved my husband and no one would beleive the love we had.I want to also thank my sons and my grandson who sit beside him day and night they never left his side. Life is hard for me now the pain is unberable I cry all the time but I know time will heal the tears but it will never heal the love I have for my Bill.He will always be my husband and I will always be his wife so Bill don't forget wait for me at the gate  your wife

Billy is my uncle, I loved him dearly and always will. He was always one that you wanted to argue with in fun. He was always in my life. I didn't get to see you as often as I wanted to Uncle Bill but life does that to people. When I was in your area I would always stop in to see you and my Aunt Dine-Dine. It was always a joy to see both of you. The love that you both shared was shared with everyone you met. I love the saying,(behind a good man there is a good woman and behind a good woman there is a good man.) This is where both of you fit this description. I must say that you both raised three wondeful boys that grew into wonderful men to be proud of and I know that you both were and are proud of them. I pray for all of you all the time. I know that Uncle Bill is in Heaven, but your grief goes on and on and that you will always miss him, but take pleasure in the fact that he doesn't know that you are grieving for him, he is happy with Our Lord Jesus Christ and will be there in Heaven when you get there. The love of our God and family and friends and the love that you feel for a stanger is a gift given to all that will open their hearts to the love of our Lord and your family has done this. I love you all. With a final word to you Aunt Dine-Dine, you are surrounded by the love of Uncle Bill. Mine and my familys love will be with you always.

    Where do I start?  Trying to put into words the impact that this man, "my Dad" had on my life is impossible.  Dad was my friend, a man whom I could share anything with, he was also my hero, someone whom I could look up to, someone I could follow as an example.  For 39 years I watched Dad give of himself to everyone, never complaining, living life to the fullest.
    I guess my greatest memory of Dad would be the day he gave his life to Christ.  We took chairs to the Farmer Christian Home for the annual revival when Bro Jimmie Clark begin to talk to Dad outside.  Next thing I know, this quiet man was shouting, the man that very few times had I seen cry, begin crying!  He was so excited, he had made his reservation in Heaven and his life would never be the same again!  From that day forward you could find Dad in church, shouting , crying, clapping and standing up bragging on God!  What a change God had made, Dad was a good man, a good Dad before salvation, but now he was complete in Christ.
    So much I can say about Dad, but I will close with this.  I learned more about "true faith" in the last three weeks of Dad's life than anything I have learned in Bible College.  From the day when the Dr. told him he had cancer until God called him home, he would say " I am a winner either way!"  He biggest concern during his fight with cancer was not himself but his family, he constantly talked to us boys (Eddie, Jamey, and myself) about taking care of Mom.  What a man! What a Dad!  What a Hero!  If God will allow me to become half the man he was, that would be a blessing!
    I miss Dad so much but I rejoice in the fact that we will meet again!  It reminds me of that old song "What a day that will be!"  I can't wait, if God answers my prayer he will come get us all (the saints) today in the rapture!  As John put it in the book of Revelations, "Even so, Come Lord Jesus."

 How do you write something about a man like my pops? We had so many great times over the years. I can remember growing up looking at my pops wanting to be just like him he knew everything about everything how to work on cars, build homes fix anything that is broken. But the thing I remember the most is how he got up every morning to go to work no matter how cold or hot it was outside to make sure we had food on the table and shoes on our feet and I cant recall a time that we never had everything we needed. Just take a look at his hand and you will see all the hard work that he has done with love for his family. He taught me so many things but the ones I will never forget is how much he loved the the Lord and his family. Thanks Pops for teaching me how to be a man, a man that leads his family by holding on to Gods hand. I love you so much pops and I will miss you every day. I will see you in the morning.

To my sister each day I see you suffer more and I can barely stand your pain, but I know Billy Skipper and he will understand your grief. If he had gone first he would be just as you are. Before their is healing there is so much grief and even anger. We know that because of all the fanily we have lost. Your losing your husband is the hardest of all but with the grace of God you will heal in time. I know it must be hard to hear people say that you will feel better in time but we all mean well. Some have never experienced this loss,God knows I haven't and I fear this all the time.  Jesus Christ Our Lord will show you the way. So cry sissy and ask the Lord why Billy had to go so soon. He will answer you, that I am sure of. At the foot of the cross Mary the Mother of our Lord Jesus cried out for him she was in so much agony so God would expect no less of you. You have many people that love you and will be there for you. Geradine you are my baby sister and I love you with all of my heart. Don said don't foget to tell her that I love her, SO Geradine DON LOVES YOU. Goodnight baby sister, I love you more than words can say. I will see you tomorrow and will be there for you always  Love forever Linda and Don.

I can't express my sympathy enough for the Skippers' loss. I will always hold Bill in my heart. He was the one who was never ashamed to praise the Lord. I loved him and his huge smile and thoughtful words. He made church so much sweeter. The "amens" and those hands clapping and his arms waving! Oh how he loved Jesus. I am thankful to have been privileged to have known him. I am so glad that I told him every time I seen that I loved him and he would always say.."I love you too girl". He had more love than anyone I know. He was the best. I know that I WILL see him again. Thank you for sharing your precious loved one. To all the family,I pray the Lord will give you sweet peace today and in the days to come.

To the Skipper family and Eddie, I am so sorry for your loss. I did not know Bill but from what I have heard he was a wonderful man. He had wonderful sons. I know what it is to loose a man you loved, respected, cherished, and looked up to your whole life. I pray that God gives you the peace and comfort you need to heal your broken hearts and get through just one day at a time until you meet him again on the other side of Jordan. "Son go rest high on that mountain, for your work on earth is done, Go to Heaven a shouting, before the Father and the Son!"

I just wanted to tell you how very sorry I am to hear about the passing of your father-in-law Bill.  Jason forwards me prayer requests and I had been praying for Bill.  The first immediate family member I lost was my grandfather, who also passed because of lung cancer.  Watching him struggle for the year he was receiving treatment was one of the hardest things I had to ever go through.  I know you and Jason have endured much more despair with the sickness and passing of your mother, thus I thought of your children so often because I was Hope's age when my grandfather passed with the same disease.  I am praying for peace for you and your family, which I know your strong faith will guide you to.  Please know you all are in my thoughts and prayers and I am very sorry for your loss.

Grandpa, there is no words that i can say to let you kno how much I miss you. I have known you for 25 years and you have always told me how proud of me you was and no one will kno just how good it made me feel i would walk on your deck and walk in and could see the man i want to be sitting there is the chair and my day would just be soo muck better. There is always that one person that can give someone comfort and you was mine i can remember a few times i can remember crying on your shoulder like a little baby and you just say it will be okay son and i knew it would be . Thank you for everything you have ever done for me and dont you worry me and your sons will be there for grandma no matter what me and carissa love you and ill see you soon love you grandpaw you will be missed alot

It is terribly sad for the church members, family and friends that lose a brother in the Lord.  What a blessing though, to know it isnt the end, just a wonderful beginning for him.  So many don't have that wonderful assurance.  Our family is in constant prayer for you all as you have to deal with this tremendous earthly loss.    I met Bill about 10 years ago when my sister married one of Bill's sons, Eddie . I would often see Bill and Geraldine at Family Birthday Gatherings. I don't believe they ever missed their Children or               Grandchildren's Birthday celebrations. Bill always had a twinkle in his eyes and a warm friendly smile that matched,( it reminded of my Grandfather :-) it is becoming more rare to see that in a person in the present times we are living. The love he had for his family was plain to see and I often heard good things from my sister and nieces about Bill. He always made them feel loved and special.  I will always remember   watching the love he showed towards his precious wife, his Children, and Grandchildren. I also remember him taking time to talk to my own precious grandchild and making him laugh with his Donald Duck noises. He had a quiet, gentle, very kind-hearted spirit about him. 
     I remember him bragging on my marcaroni salad and  a 7 layer salad I had made one time at a birthday party.  I believe my Sister had to start making that macaroni salad and bringing it to the their Sunday dinners they have. 
   What I admired about Bill is his love for GOD and Family. I can relate to this love because I grew up with this type of love! I was blessed to have attended a few church services with Bill. His love for God could get you excited to be in the house of the GOD. He was not ashamed & he Praised the Lord and  said  " Amen".  I remember getting excited on one of those times we were in the same church service and we were both praising GOD.  Reminded me of a time when I was a young girl and people often praised God and got excited in the house of God. 
Bill will for sure be missed by so many but I know he is Praising the Lord in Heaven tonight!!!

Bill was a wonderful man, always happy and smiling.  He loved his wife, his family, and most of all Jesus Christ.  I thank him and Geraldine for raising three great Christian men with good values and love for their family.  He has done so much for his family, anytime you would call him he would be there without hesitation.  I will miss seeing him walking down our driveway to come eat dinner or get his hair cut. I will miss him with all of my heart but I rejoice in knowing that he is in heaven and that I will see him again.

Billy you have been more than a brother-in-law to us, you have been a friend and true family. Don and I have always felt your love and kindness. You have always met us with that beautiful smile and with the greetings of hey Mah and Donald doo. You have been the rock in my sisters life, as Geraldine's has been in yours. Your time on earth has been one of integrity and love. Both you and Geraldine have raised and loved three extraordinary men. Billy your life on earth is over but you will never be forgotten.We remember your words that you said to Geraldine and to us "When you walk out of this earthly door, you will walk straight in to Heaven's Door". (Billy Skipper ) as we have always called you, "Go rest high on that mountain for your work on earth is done".  We love you and you will always be with all of us. My dad was a man that I love and respected.  As a father he was always there to correct and comfort me.  He always put his family first and sacrificed his own needs and wants to make sure we had what we needed.  I can remember looking out into the crowds at every ball game and he would be sitting there.  Then there was my first deer hunt, it was a cold morning when I was twelve.  We sat between the limbs of an old falling down tree and I lay down beside him and was looking up at him.  I watched him in amazement at how quiet, calm, and still he was.  He turned and looked at me and smiled and said are you cold boy?  I said yeah.  He said you want to head to the truck and I said yeah.  He laughed and said lets head home.  You see I've been looking up to my dad all my life and he will always be my hero.  My dad continued to amaze me.  The older I became and the more life weighed on me my dad was always there as an example and a friend to me.  The day my dad got saved he called me crying and shouting.  It wouldn't be but a few years later after watching the way my dad lead his life that I would ask him to pray with me and lead me to the Lord and for that I am greatful.  My dad has gone on to be with Jesus and I will 'keep on keeping on' as he would say, but just like every Saturday evening when as I would walk from my deer stand to his he would be waiting for me and I know when it comes my time to go Home he will be there waiting for me again.  I will always love you pop and I will always be in dept to you for all you are and all you have done.  I'll see you in the morning.

Just a few weeks ago I got the privilege to meet all the members of the Skipper Gang.   That day I saw a family that truly loves, cares for and is dedicated to one another.  It's hard to find just one of those qualities in a family these days.   What a wonderful family you all have been blessed with and what a great role model Bill has been for his boys and grandchildren.  He will be missed by so many.  You're all in my thoughts and prayers.

I haven't known Bill long but his smile tells it all.  He was loved dearly by his family and I am going to miss his "Amen" in church.  I'm sure he is running the streets of gold shouting "Amen" now!  I am praying for the entire Skipper family as I know you will all miss him dearly.

I did not know Bill as personally as many of you did, but I knew him more as "Rodney's dad."  I do remember fondly the story Mitchell told me when Bill got saved.  He said they went to Jimmy Clark's to move some chairs.  He said Jimmy talked to Bill and he asked the Lord to save him.  Mitchell began telling how Bill was so happy that he ran around outside just praising the Lord.  When him and Rodney got Bill home, he ran inside as fast as he could and told Geraldine he had met the Lord.  What I will remember most about Bill is that he would just clap his hands in church and say "Amen."  He sat behind us and I would not even have to turn around and look, I just knew by the sound that it was Bill's hands clapping!  I will miss that sound but we all know he is clapping with a more distinct clap than ever with the Lord and we will see him soon!  Rodney, Charity, and all the family are in our prayers.  We love you all.

Remeber when you picked me up, held me tigh and never let up. With your Donald Duck voice you joked with me. Then you'd tickle my tummy. We'd play and play until I had to go. And I cried because I loved you so. Kiss me and a see you later. I always responed with bye alligator. Now i'm older and you are too. But no matter what I still love you.

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.” The love I have for this man is undeniable. Ever since I was little I always knew this man was here for me. My grandpa, the man that was there for me through thick and thin. Even when things got tough he stuck it out and showed me the love I thought I'd never see. This man was the greatest man to ever live. He has changed my views on life and I thank him for it. I remember the Donald Duck voice he did for my cousin Hope and I as he tickled us on our stomachs with his beard. To see this man from the outside looking in you would see he had no flaws, he was perfect, if anyone could be half the person he was the would would change completely. "Those we love don't go away, they live in our hearts every day." Everyday I wake up and thank God, then I say good morning to my grandpa. I know that even though he is gone in body his spirit will lie forever in my heart. I love my grandpa more than anything. To truly know this man is an honor, to say that I have his blood, his genes, his love running through my veins is something so great on cannot explain. I know that my brother and my three little cousins will agree that there is always that one thing that us grandchildren will miss doing with our grandfather. I know Trey and Ryan will miss going hunting. He use to call them his hunting buddies and although my brother wont admit it that made him feel special. If I could say anything to my grandpa it would be that my love for him will never change, as it never has. If any change is there is was the growth of my love. Grandpa, I love you forever and always. I WILL see you later. Kisses and hugs from your baby girl. I love you.

If I were to describe the kind of person my Pawpaw was, I would say that he loved God most of all and then he loved the family. But without a doubt in my head I know he loved me. I love him more than words could ever say. He was a man that truly loved God and the last 2 weeks he really proved how much faith he had. I love my Grandpa more than words could say but if I were to try to put it in words this is what I'd say: My Grandpa will be in my heart forever! I know that Heaven just got a whole lot sweeter and I can't wait to get there. Love,

There is no doubt in my mind that my Pawpaw loved me very much! (along with all his other grandchildren.) He would do anything in the world for us and never grumble or complain. He always bragged on us and made us feel 10 feet tall. I will always remember him doing the Donald Duck voice and him tickling me until I said "Pawpaw Bill, I love you with all my heart." He was the best Pawpaw I could ever ask for and I am so thankful for the time I got to spend with him. He truly is my hero and showed me what faith is.  I miss him a lot but I know that he is in a better place and I'll see him again someday. I love my Poppy with all my heart!

"The best fathers get promoted to grandfathers." Grandpa Bill was just that; a great father and a wonderful grandpa. I love and miss him. His words and memories will forever be in my heart. Sadly, my son will not get to experience the happiness of having grandpa BIll in your life. But his pictures will be displayed proudly in my home and whenever my son ask me who that is I will tell him how strong, funny, and wonderful his great grandfather was. I LOVE YOU GRANDPA

Bill is the best Father-in-Law a girl could ask for.  He has a gentle spirit with a super big heart.  He made me feel welcome and loved from the first day I met him.  I could never repay all the love and kindness he has shown me and my kids (his pride and joy).  Thank you for everything!

I have never met someone who more deserved the crowns that will be given in Heaven. When my mom married Eddie, we immediatly gained an entire addition to our family. There was never a question, William Edward Skipper was my grandfather. He exuded nothing but love and caring in all that he did. He was a rock in our family. Every person who was blessed to have met him, walked away sharing that infectious smile of his. His love for God was inspiring. He was so tenderhearted toward Jesus that he couldnt make it through a Meal Blessing without at least a few tears. When my daughter was still to shy to go to anyone else, Grandpa would say come on girl, lets go for a walk and he would scoop her up and off they would go. She loves her Pawpaw Bill. She sings songs and talks about him all the time. I consider myself exceedingly blessed to have been able to call him Grandpa and to be apart of his life. There are so many wonderful memories, so many amazing things to say about him, its hard to articulate the love and the grief that our family is experiencing right now. Earth may have lost a truly amazing and selfless man, but we all find comfort knowing that Heaven has gained one more angel for that Heavenly Choir. As he always said, "Im a winner either way"! I love and miss you Grandpa!
