

Alan John Davidson (Dec. 2, 1945 – Feb. 18, 2025) of Toronto died peacefully in his sleep following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer and was welcomed home by his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He was predeceased by his parents, Alexander Davidson and Kathaleen Venton, and his brother Larry. He is survived by his devoted wife, Franca; his children, Kirk (Leziel) and Troy (Thomas); his grandson, Tantan; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Rina, Doug, Ave, and Rob; as well as nieces and nephews.
Al was dedicated to his work as a pioneer in the Information Technology sector, starting when computers occupied entire rooms. During a career that spanned decades, he worked for many companies, including the Toronto Catholic District School Board, Centennial College, CNIB, Adidas, Midas, and Bell. In later life, he served on three condo boards, where he shared his expertise to optimize operations and create efficiencies for the benefit of his neighbours. Al had boundless curiosity, a love of travel, and a deep respect for nature and wildlife, particularly the fascinating ecology of Hawaii. He was a skilled boater, fisherman, and hunter who cherished the great outdoors. He leaves behind many family members and friends who truly loved him and will cherish his memory.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Parish, 3220 Bayview Ave, North York, ON M2M 3R7. The family will receive condolences at a luncheon in the parish hall immediately following the funeral mass. Entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Mausoleum.
