

Passed away peacefully at Telfer Place in Paris, Ontario on Fri, Dec. 5, 2008, after a brief illness at the age of 83 years. Ace was born in Montreal on Feb. 15, 1925. He is survived by his life companion, Joan Chesney of Paris, Ontario and his five children and their spouses; his daughter and son-in-law Joyce & Dr. David Goldschmid, his son and daughter-in-law Alan & Sally Honsinger, his son and daughter-in-law Rick & Yvonne Honsinger, his son and daughter-in-law Mark & Tanya Honsinger and his daughter and son-in law Catherine Michaud and Daniel Leclerc. Ace attended high school at Daniel O'Connel in Montreal and took commercial studies and accountancy at Sir George Williams University and subsequently graduated with an accounting degree from York University. He began his accounting career with the Quebec North Shore Paper Company in 1946 that culminated with his position as Special Investigator with Revenue Canada, where he retired with distinction and respect amongst his peers. Ace had a commanding presence balanced with wit and charm and was a loyal and respected friend among many. He especially enjoyed his time with his grandchildren Renee, Michelle, Josh, Olivia, Lana, Carter, Julia-Jade, Frederick and David. He was predeceased by his brother Alfred, his mother Charlotte and his father Alfred. The family is grateful to Joan Chesney for her unwavering commitment to Ace's comfort and companionship over the more than 30 years of their friendship. A celebration of Ace's life will be held at R. S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario on Thurs, Dec. 11, 2008 at 11:00 am.
