Christos Nianiaris

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the untimely tragic passing of our brother and uncle Chris Nianiaris, after a brief illness on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at York Central Hospital. Chris is survived by his sister Douly and her husband David Donne, and his brother Dr .Nick Nianiaris and wife Hayley. He will be missed dearly by nieces and nephews Nicole, Alexander, Andreas, Nastasia, Christian, Tatiana and the Donne, Zerafa and Makos families. Chris will be sadly missed by many dear friends whom considered him family. These include the Vamvakas, Anargyros, Brooks and Dare families. His generosity is legendary and he was always there to give a helping hand and advice to those he cared about. Although sudden and unexpected, he will now join his loving parents Athanasios and Kiki Nianiaris who have surely missed him dearly and will once again hold him in their loving arms. Chris was larger than life, a successful entrepreneur, and in all, quite the character. Everyone knew when he entered as well as when he left a room. He was always filled with a will to live as he ferociously and courageously battled rheumatologic disease for his entire life. His tenacity in life and many accomplishments make it difficult to imagine what he would have achieved had he not been afflicted with impairments. Right to the end of his life he was always worried not to burden others with his physical complaints and would end every conversation with a sincere concern for the others' wellbeing. Chris has too many friends to mention here and he loved you all. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge St., at Goulding, south of Steeles). Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 28 at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church ( 222 Burbank Drive). Interment to follow at Westminster Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Arthritis Society (1700 - 393 University Ave. Toronto, ON M5G 1E6).
