David Gooding Britton

It is with great sadness that the family announce the death of David Britton after a lengthy illness at the age of 82. He leaves behind his devoted wife Bernice, loving son John (Jennifer), adoring daughter Marty (Ed); stepchildren Susan, Evan and David (Andria) Kelman; grandchildren Luc, Nikki, Aaron, Jakob and Lila. Brother to Grant Britton and his wife Margaret; sisters-in-law Shirley Bocknek & Molly Silverstein and many nieces and nephews. David is predeceased by his parents David Gooding Britton and Viva Jane Middleton . Founder of Britton Management Profiles Inc., in 1974, he went on to build a successful and reputable business. David had an entrepreneurial flare and a vision that was far beyond his time. Quality of life was important to David and he had a passion to travel and enjoy fine wines of the world. He was a great outdoorsman spending many summers at the family cottage in the Muskoka's where he loved to hunt and fish. During the winter months he took great pride working on various home renovation projects. David has been called home many times during his life and fought hard to come back to us each time. He enjoyed the simple things in life. A good meal with his family, a cold beer and time with his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. Family and friends will be received at R. S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St. at 11:00 am Thursday, August 4; funeral at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place at Elgin Mills Cemetery, Oraynu Section. The family would like to thank the medical & nursing staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
