My sincere condolences to David's entire family. Shocked and saddened to lose such a great human being, and a friend from many years back. I last saw David at Kingswood many years ago, while he was working security, had a great catch up chat backstage, talked about the Northview Golf team. It was nice to see he still enjoyed golfing. Wish we had gotten an opportunity to play golf and shoot the breeze again.... Todd

On behalf of S.T.V. Weiss Blau Bayern and my family, I wish to extend heartfelt condolences to Dave's family and friends. I have seen Dave play with the Harmony Brass for more than 20 years and found him to be a very personable guy, always cordial and friendly, with a big smile. It is hard to believe that we won't see him up on that stage as he has done so many times before. He was a really nice guy and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. The Harmony Brass has lost a very integral player and we have lost a good friend. Rest in peace.

Although I had not seen Dave in many years since Northview Heights band class days, he was always one of the students who exemplified to me the best of the students in the music program - always positive, supportive and caring. You will be greatly missed,Dave. All my best to Jennifer and the rest of the family, and your many friends.

We wish to extend our heartfelt sympathy to Dave's mother and sister and family. Dave was not just a co-worker with me and my son Josh, but also a very dear friend. Dave introduced Josh to the love of golf and they spent such quality time together whether golfing or bowling! When Josh was tragically killed 8 years ago, Dave was my 'rock'. He was so helpful and understanding. Dave was instrumental in helping organize the memorial golf tournaments we had for Josh, giving 100% to organizing them as well as being the master of ceremonies at each of them, helping to raise over $10,000 for the Make a Wish Foundation. Dave was a great friend to not only Josh and me, but to my husband Jim and sons Scott and Bryce. In fact Dave, Jim and Bryce were going to be golfing with each other at Rocky Crest this Sunday. Now, he will still be golfing, but it will be with his 'buddy' from CWT. Josh will be so proud to have Dave as his partner again. God bless you and keep you in his care Dave. I worked only one summer at Kingswood Music Theatre (1989). On the day I was applying for a job at Canada's Wonderland, Dave was the very first person I met. I was waiting in line, feeling a little lost, when out of the blue, this smiling,jovial, cheerful man came up to me and started talking. He suggested that I apply at Kingswood and he kindly pointed me in the right direction. That man was Dave Gurnett. Dave was so spirited and happy. And he just made me laugh! I was only there one summer but working with and around Dave made such a positive difference. Looking back, it truly was one of the best summers of my youth. My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to the entire family.

I knew "Dave" when he worked at Kingswood Music Theater, he would always poke fun at me because I was always waiting around to take Scott home from work ( another Techie ). We always had so much fun working in the house at Kingswood and poking fun at each other. Dave will be greatly missed! I wish his family Peace in this time of sorrow.

Dear Dave, In 1986 I applied for a part-time job, and so our story begins. Kingswood Music Theatre at Canada's Wonderland where we all first met. Over the subsequent years we became: family. Together we laughed, we played baseball, we learned to drink, we danced the nights away at Sparkles, we regularly invaded Kelsey's at Keel and Steels, we played hide n' seek and swam in the fountain after hours, and we worked. We worked hard, and tried our best to make certain each quest had a safe and enjoyable experience at our events. Dave taught me strength and determination, and his gift of laughter always could make me smile. Thank-you Dave, you will be missed. Sweet dreams.

Dear Jennifer(Peter) It is with great sadness, that I heard about the passing of your brother Dave, although I had not seen Dave in a long time , I always will remember him as one of the good guys with a good sense of humour and a real passion for anything music related. I was shocked to see the notice in Monday's Star; I hope to be over on Wednesday night, and Andrew Barker and I were just conversing tonight about Dave; My prayers for the family.

I was shocked to hear of Dave's passing. He was taken much too young. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
