David Gerard Murray passed away suddenly on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the age of 51. Predeceased by his father Larry Murray, David is adored by his loving wife Katie and his daughters Ella and Emily. His loss is shared by his mother Eileen, brother Brendan, sister-in-law Nicole and nephew Conor (C-Dog). His in-laws all knew him to be a wonderfully steadfast, quick witted and caring man. As a Detective Constable with the Toronto Police Service, it’s likely that the only people who won’t mourn his passing are those whose bad behaviour he worked tirelessly to arrest. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home - Thornhill (8088 Yonge Street, south of Highway 407, west side). Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026 at 11am at St. Margaret of Scotland Roman Catholic Church (222 Ridley Blvd, Toronto). Interment Holy Cross Cemetery (8361 Yonge Street, Thornhill).
