

Donald Reed Findley, 80, of Bradenton, FL, died September 27, 2017. Born in Toronto, Canada he moved to Bradenton, Florida in 1979. Preceded in death by his parents Ivan R and Elizabeth L. Findley. He was a devoted husband and is survived by his wife Liz of 36 years, the best loving father to his daughter Kathryn and the most proud grandfather of Miguel Don Montero-Findley and loving father in law of Miguel Montero Martin.
Don’s passion in life was GOLF and he chose that as his career. His uncle Morley Findlay, was a Greens Superintendent at the London Hunt C.C, and was instrumental in making Don’s passion become a reality.
His golf career as follows:
~Assistant Golf Professional at Trafalgar C.C, Trafalgar, Ontario
~Teaching Professional and shop Manager at the former Northwood C.C ,Toronto, Ontario
~Assistant Gold Professional Board of Trade C.C ,Toronto, Ontario
~Pro Manager and Director of Golf North Halton Golf & Country Club, Georgetown, Ontario
He retired as a Golf Professional of El Conquistador C.C. Bradenton, Florida after being there for 24 years and was currently a Golf Professional at Key Royale Golf Club in Anna Maria Island, FL. He was a member of the PGA of America, North Florida Section.
A graveside service will be held at Thornhill Cemetery, 1 Church Lane, Thornhill, Ontario, on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers donation to the Red Cross or Salvation Army would be appreciated.
