In his 82nd year, Doug passed away peacefully at Scarborough General Hospital on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 with his family by his side. Son of Oswell and May Brien. Loving husband for 55 years and best friend to Sheila (nee McCoy), proud father of Jim (Karyn) and Linda (Gordon), 'Grandpa' to Tyanna and 'Pa' to Holly and Melanie. Remembered by nieces, nephews and cousins. An employee of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals for 37 years, avid sports enthusiast - longtime referee and coach at Pleasant View Hockey League. His devilish sense of humour, contagious smile and bright blue eyes will be missed. Visitation at R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street (south of Steeles), Sunday 2-4 and 7-9pm; service in the chapel Monday at 11 a.m. Memorial donations to the Salvation Army or Trinity Presbyterian Church would be appreciated by the family.
