Edward Joseph Sheehy

Peacefully at home on Wednesday November 21st, 2007 at Toronto, in his 100th year, surrounded by Rita (Shea) his loving wife of 71 years and family. Edward, loved son of the late Daniel Sheehy and Catherine McEllistrum. He was the loving father of the late Louis(Eleanor) and is survived by his son, Rev. Msgr. Ambrose Sheehy,Toronto, daughter Jo-Anne of Toronto and daughter Mary (Frank Doris) of Keene, Ontario. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Dan and Elena Sheehy, and Gerard, Michael and Ambrose Doris. Edward was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Rice(John) and Annie Moore (John) and his brothers, Thomas (Anna), Daniel and Patrick. He will be remembered for devotion to family and his dedication as a printer at the Globe and Mail newspaper. We shall always remember his deep and admirable attachment to his Catholic faith and his evident honesty in all his dealings. The fine example of integrity and goodness set for his family will never be forgotten.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic Church (3220 Bayview Ave, Toronto) on Monday November 26, 2007 at 10 a.m. Interment in the family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lindsay, Ontario. Friends may call at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles) on Sunday November 25th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers on Sunday November 25th at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Dr. Andrew Simone, Canadian Food for Children.
