Elizabeth Ann Coombs

Peacefully on May 10, 2010 at the Scarborough Hospital - Grace Division with family at her side. Ann was in her 79th year. Beloved mother of Barry (Aleda) and Beth (Tom) and grandmother of Greg and Ben, she will be greatly missed by many other family members and devoted friends. Ann was born to John and Leta Anderton on Long Island, New York in 1932. She was an active member of St. Matthew the Apostle Oriole Anglican Church in Henry Farm for over forty years and volunteered in several capacities including terms as President of the Anglican Church Women. She was involved with many Friday night Community Clothing Sales and the Outreach School Nutrition Program. Forthright and outspoken, she will be remembered for her intelligence, creativity and generosity. Ann is re-united with her parents and her dear husband Jim. Special thanks to her nurses and the staff of Amica at Bayview. Friends may call on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Matthew the Apostle Anglican Church (80 George Henry Blvd). Interment St. John's Norway Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to St. Matthew the Apostle Anglican Church for the Outreach School Nutrition Program.
