Elsie Rossi

Peacefully at the age of 94, on March 26, 2014 at Elginwood Long Term Care. Beloved wife of the late Adib Rossi. Dear mother of Allan (Danya Kousaie), and the late Garry. Cherished grandmother of Veronica and Laura. Dear sister of Ramona, Norma and Louis; predeceased by sisters Lily, Violet, and Gladys, brothers Teddy, Mike, and Victor, and lovingly remembered by their families. Elsie will also be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.She was cared for at both Unionville Home Society, and more recently at Elginwood Long Term Care where she spent the last several years under the loving kindness and care of devoted staff. Elsie was born in Montreal to Jadallah and Annie Zakaib and was part of a very large family, working in the family business Vac-O-Nut for many years. She was a hardworking woman who, after the sudden passing of her husband early in her marriage faced many challenges in raising her two young sons. Her home was always open to friends and family who loved visiting for her warm hospitality. Many people fondly remember the wonderful meals she prepared and happy times spent at her home. She was highly devoted to her Orthodox Christian faith. Visitation will be held at St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, 80 De Castelnau St. E., Montreal, H2R 1P2, on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 9:00am, followed by funeral service at 10:00am. Interment at Notre Dame des Neiges Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church.
