Passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, May 6, 2016 at his home at the Marleigh Retirement Residence in Unionville. Beloved husband of 69 years to Mary Milne (née Savel). Fred served in the Merchant Marine during the Second World War. He was a successful self-made business man, a gifted amateur artist and loved to cook and travel with Mary. He will be lovingly missed and remembered forever by all his family and friends. Friends may call on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge St., at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic Church (3220 Bayview Ave.). Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson Society Canada or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
