Beloved wife of the late Ralph. Loving mother of Robin (Ted), Greg (Dorothy), Brian (Phoebe), Susan (Jim), Carole (Murray) and Jeff (Lisa). Dearest Nanny to Shannon (Jeff), Michelle (Faraz), Julie, Caroline, Heather, Gordon, Penny, Paige, Brennan, Doug, Jack, Dan, Graham, Lesley, Ian, Madeline, Robin, Jacklyn and Allison. Great-Nanny of Everly, Maisie and Nina. Partner later in life to the late John Beattie. Gerry will be remembered by all of the Beattie family.
An avid bridge player, golfer, gardener and patron of the arts, Gerry will be missed by her many friends and her extended family.
Friends may call on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Thornhill United Church (25 Elgin Street). As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Hospice Thornhill.
