Geraldine Margaret (Roberts) Moore passed away peacefully on August 24, 2015 at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto at the age of 102, in the company of close family. She was born on August 11th, 1913 in Sydenham, Ontario to Phillip and Lulu Roberts. Her husband, David Moore, passed away in 1974, but she always kept him close to her heart.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Carolyn (John Doucet), and Donna Lu (Ron Mitchell), her grandchildren, Katrine (Nicolas), Natalie (Simon), David (Katie), and Christopher (Briana), and her great grandchildren Abigail and Julianne.
Gerry was an intelligent and gracious woman who graduated with an Honours BA from Queen's University in 1935. She went on to use her knowledge to educate others, and taught high school for years. Later, she worked for the Ministry of Education (1965-1978) as a curriculum coordinator. She spent her last twelve years enjoying a full life at Amica at Bayview.
Learning was also a part of her personal life. She had boundless curiosity and was fervently interested in knowledge, and sharing it with others. She loved to travel, garden, go to theatre, play bridge, have great conversations and watch her Toronto Blue Jays. She was a role model to her family and community, and someone with a genuinely good heart and timeless soul.
A private family service will take place in Port Hope at a later date.
