

He was born on June 3, 1929 to Frank and Mae in Chatham, Ontario. He was the beloved husband of Anne (predeceased in 2002), and Shirley in 2009, loving father of Graham and Andrea (Murray) and cherished grandfather of Zoe (Brodie) and Andrew (Natalie). Dear brother of Barbara (David predeceased) and uncle to David (Mary Jane), Linda (Bill predeceased), and Brian (Blair).
Grant was a graduate of the University of Toronto and the Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the Bar of the Province of Ontario in 1954.
Grant joined IBM Canada Ltd. as Counsel in 1963 and became Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary in December 1972.
Grant was past Chairman of the Canadian Business Equipment Manufacturers Association, a past President of the Association of Canadian General Counsel, and a past Chairman of the Conference Board Council Public Affairs Executives. He was a former Director of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and a past Chairman of the Legislation Committee and a former Director of the Canadian Manufacturers Association.
He was a past Chairman of the Board of Governors of North York General Hospital and served as a Vice Commodore of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club.
In his personal life Grant’s passions were sailing and travelling. He was privileged to travel extensively to all the provinces in Canada, twenty-six of the States in the U.S. and sixty-nine countries around the world. What he most enjoyed was sailing his own boat Luna Quest II out of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club around Lake Ontario on many, many summer voyages.

A celebration of life will be held at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 8088 Yonge Street on April 13. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm with service and reception to follow at 2:00 pm.
