Dear Larry,Marianne and Vic.  Your wife/Mother was always a beautiful lady. We were shocked to hear of her death. I had such low key fun playing golf with her. John and I certainly had fun at the BLT tightly closed golf years ago.  I will miss her at ‘ladies golf’ although I have been away in either Florida or the cottage these last few years.  I am sure she has been the strength of your family. I know you will all miss her very much and hopefully the fun times will shine above this time right now. To Moira’s family. I only met Moira a few time but heard of her often. The photo was taken the summer of 1943 at my grandparents farm, Cecil and Grace Gill. Moira spent her days perched on a fence post happily drawing enjoying nature. Sorry to hear of your loss. From All of Grant Gills Family

Saddened to learn of Moira’s passing.  I extend my deepest sympathy to you all.  I attended her Oriental brush painting class over many years at her studio.  What a great teacher she was - even took us for Chinese food.  Happy memories will remain with me always.

I am so sorry to learn of Moira's passing. My time spent with her in her home studio inspired me to study Chinese brush painting which lead me to other mentors and delight in lifelong study and practice in watercolour. Moira was gracious, kind and good humoured and a great influence as my then husband and I graduated and stepped out to shape our own futures.

Dear Dr. Mudie and family,
I was saddened to read the passing of Mrs. Mudie. (I can hear her saying, “oh Spookie call me Moira!”) Mrs. Mudie was a great friend to my Mom and they spent many years enjoying each other’s company playing golf with and without their husbands at Rosedale.  I was in awe of Moira’s artistic talent and was so honoured that Moira painted my wedding bouquet as a wedding present. Ross and I cherish the painting and the memories of a wonderful person.

Moira's departure leaves a huge hole in the lives of her family.

As her brother, I will miss her courage, generosity, patience and kindness.  It leaves me without a touchstone to the fond memories dating back to Torhaven, a stone house purchased in Thistletown when our father returned from W.W. 2.

Happily, her warmth and depth of character are reflected in her family, which remains a source of pride.

I was shocked to read in today’s Globe & Mail the obituary for Moira and send my great sympathy to Larry and all her family.
  In 1978 and l988, my husband and I were on the trips to China that Moira led, so I have very many memories of those adventures.
  As well, Moira painted for my daughter’s 18th birthday in her brush printing style a picture of two pandas.
