Passed away peacefully at North York General Hospital on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, in his 95th year, as always, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Bernice Myra (nee Lamont) for almost 70 years. Loving father to Robert (Carolyn), Gayle, and Michael (Cindee). Predeceased by his daughter, Suzanne (Bill) and his grandson, Jamie (#15). Cherished grandfather to Steven, Mark, Kalley, Kevin, Kristin, Chris, Lynley, Jeffrey, Ryan and Tyler. A very special GG to thirteen precious great-grandchildren. Dad built a legacy of love for us all to remember and be proud. He will be sorely missed by Jannet, his very special caregiver. Many thanks for the loving care provided by Dr. Patel, the nursing staff and the Palliative Care team at NYGH. Family and friends will be received at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles) on Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. A private family service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. If so desired, memorial donations to SickKids Foundation would be appreciated and help honour Dad's legacy.
