Harold March Steckley

Harold, beloved husband of Kathryn Linton Pickard. Loving father of Dr. John Steckley (Angie), Bolton Ont., Ann Dias (Trevor), London Ont., and Barbara Foot (Douglas) Vancouver, B.C. Loving stepfather of Scott Pickard (Mollie), Frisco, Colorado; Margot Auber (Serge Pieters) Milton, Ont. & Linda Pickard, Don Mills, Ont. Proud Granddad of Justin and Robert, Todd and Eva, Brett, Cameron and Jamie, Michael (Adriana), Thomas, and Brooke. Brother of Doris Miers (Melbourne, Australia) & the late Doug Steckley (Calgary, Alta).

Predeceased by his grandson Gordon Dias and brother-in-law Jeff Miers.

During WWII Harold served as a Captain in the Royal Canadian Artillery in the Italian campaign and with the Army of Occupation in northern Europe. From 1948-1958 he was a Lt. Colonel in the Canadian Militia.

Harold graduated as a Civil Engineer from Queen's University in the special class of 1948 ½, and spent his entire career with Ontario Hydro.

Friends may visit at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles), on Saturday February 23rd, 2008 from 12 noon until time of memorial service at 1 o'clock.
