

Helen is predeceased by her loving husband of almost 63 years, Allan Bruce.
She is survived by her daughters Heather (Grant), Jennifer (Michael), her granddaughters Teresa (Jeff), Britney (Charles), Andrea (Bryan), Madeline (Elliott), and her great grandchildren Matthew and Aurora.
Helen was a long-time and dedicated member of the Church of the Incarnation (formerly Church of the Annunciation for over 50 years. She was an active member of the Chancel Guild and enjoyed every moment of her time with the Parish Players drama group, which became her very special core group of friends throughout the years.
Helen also volunteered each week at St. John’s Rehabilitation Hospital for over 27 years.
Helen was fondly known as Helen Ready and Marilyn by a few special people, as she was always perfectly put together from her hair right down to her shoes. She never left the house without looking her very best.
Helen loved travelling and had many amazing adventures with Al and her family. She and Al celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Las Vegas and their 60th in New Orleans, along with Heather, Jennifer, Grant and Michael.
One of her favourite pastimes was playing cards, especially euchre, bridge and joker rummy.
There will be a Celebration of Helen’s life followed by a reception at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home Thornhill, 8088 Yonge Street, Thornhill on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 2pm. Visitation from 1-2pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donating in Helen’s memory to either the Canadian Cancer Society or to Interval House.
