After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of James W. Garland (Jim), on Friday December 8, 2006. Surrounded by love, he died peacefully at home. Born September 21, 1948 in Upper Island Cove, Newfoundland, Jim's cheerful and positive spirit was loved by all and he will be missed dearly.
Beloved husband of Debbie for 35 years, dedicated and loving father if Nicole (Chris Dunn) and Mellisa, and chereished ?Papa? of Megan. Son of the late Lenius and Annie Garland and brother to John, Patricia, Lenny, Jay, Helen and Terrie.
Family will receive friends on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and
Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 10 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church (670 Sheppard Avenue East). If desired, trees may be planted in Jim's memory with Memory Woods Canada.
