Jo Giuffre

Peacefully, on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at her residence in Peterborough, Ontario in her 90th year. Jo was the beloved wife of the late Vince Giuffre (1999) and loved mother of Anna-Marie and Don Heitzner (Brechin) and Mary Giuffre and Paul Clark (Bewdley). She was the cherished Grandma Joey to Darcy and Allison Heitzner and Elaina Heitzner and Trevor Hager and Great Grandma Joey to Elijah and Joseph Heitzner. She is survived by her loving sister, Bunny Cormack and sister in law Lena Turano, Joe and Mary Giuffre and Sr Marie Azzarello. She was predeceased by family members, sisters Kaye (Sal) Azzarello, Marie (Victor) Salerno, brother Frank (Joyce) Turano, Walter Cormack, Gloria and Willie Campitelli and Jo and John Covelli. Many nieces and nephews fondly remember their Aunt Jo. Jo was a loved friend of many. She quickly made friends in any environment and was known to meet someone she knew just about everywhere she went. Jo loved her family and her kitchen. She was a good neighbour in her community of Don Mills and always wanted to stay busy. Jo was an active member at St. Bonaventure’s Parish, including the CWL, for many years, where she enjoyed her most passionate activity- preparing and serving food for so many events. Jo will be missed by her friends and the staff at Royal Gardens in Peterborough. In lieu of flowers, we encourage donations to the St Clare Inn, 1300 Leslie St., Toronto, ON, M3C 2K9. The family will meet friends and family at R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street (at Goulding, south of Steeles) on Thursday, February 4th from 3-6 pm & 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bonaventure Church, 1300 Leslie Street, Toronto on Friday, February 5th at 11am. Condolences may be made at www.rskane.ca
