John Cornwell

Passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Leisureworld Caregiving Centre - Richmond Hill in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the Late Lily. Loving father of Brian (Heather), Robin (Donna) and the Late Warren. Cherished grandfather of Cathy (Nikos), Scott (Carla), Jennifer (Randy), Julie (Ken) and Brandon (Shayna) and great-grandfather of Matthew, Dimitri, Duncan, Jaycee, Robbie and Charlie. Survived by his sister Louise and his brother Stan (Helen) and sister-in-law Barb. Predeceased by his sister Nan, brothers Rob and Ted and his brother-in-law Cliff. John spent his entire career of 49 years with Imperial Oil Limited in Ioco, Edmonton and Toronto and Exxon in New York City. During this time he aquired his CGA and was later recognized with the FCGA designation and also attended York University in Toronto. He served various associations including The Certified General Accountants Association of Canada as National President, The Canadian Power Squadron as National Commander and The Doctor's Hospital as Director. Thank you to the staff at Glynnwood Retirement Residence and Leisureworld with special mention to Lynda Rekatsinas and Phianna Lee. Friends may call on Monday, October 24, 2011 from 3:30 - 4:00 p.m. Memorial Service in the Chapel at 4:00 p.m. at R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street at Goulding Avenue, south of Steeles).
