John Fairney passed away on June 6, 2025 suddenly. He is pre-deceased by his wife Isabelle, and he is survived by his children Laura (Ray), Michelle (Bruce) and Michael (Paquita), grandchildren, Nicholas, Jonathan, Patrick and Jade.
John worked for CN Railway for 42 years. John played hockey, baseball and golf well into his 70’s. After that he loved playing euchre and snooker and remained competitive to the end. When he wasn’t playing snooker and euchre, he loved his turner classic movies.
Visitation for John will be held at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes - Thornhill (8088 Yonge St.) on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 12:00pm. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00pm. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery (8361 Yonge St, Thornhill) following the funeral service. Following the Entombment there will be a reception at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes - Thornhill (8088 Yonge St.).
