John was a film buff, an enthusiastic cook, and in his younger days, enjoyed travelling. Many of those who knew him can recall John with a cool drink in hand while soaking in the sun at the beach.
Towards the end of his life, John struggled with cancer and was only given a short time to live. Miraculously, he lived two years more than expected, giving him a chance to say goodbye to his friends and family, including his loyal companion, Chico, before he passed away on July 30th, 2025.

A memorial service will take place at Community Church (45 Crosby Ave, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 5T3) on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 2pm - 4pm.
