John Harold Rogers

Peacefully, with his family by his side, at St. Michael's Hospital on October 4, 2008. John, beloved husband of Mrytle, loving father of John, Gregory, Gordon, Mary, Karen, Sandra, Michael, Marlene and James. Wonderful father-in-law to Victory, Eileen, Rosemarie, Patrick, Colin, Krystyna, Michael and Jennifer. Adored grandfather "Papa" to Justin, Sarah, Mary, John, Michael, Gordon, Camille, Molly, Erin, Meghan, Caitlin, Eileen, Bridget, Maureen, Michael, Sarah, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Rachel, Bryan, Michael, Kathryn, Meghan, Jeffrey, Jessica, Lauren, Stephanie, Haleigh, Mark and Dylan. Great Grandpapa to Tyler, Riley, Emma, Aidan, James, Liam, and Marie-Claire. John, son of the late Anne Kenny and Harold Rogers was born in Lindsay Ontario. He will be remebered by his brothers William, Joseph, Edward, Leo, Paul and his sister Anne Marie. He is predeceased by sisters Paula, Aileen, Jean and Patricia. He will be greatly missed by all the Rogers relatives and the Pettigrew family. Affectionately known as "Big Johnny" to friends and family alike, he touched the lives of everyone he met and will be greatly missed by all. John enjoyed a long and colourful career at Bell Canada. He was the greatest Detroit Red Wings fan of all time. The family will receive friends at Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St. on Wednesday Oct. 8 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 9 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Church, 670 Sheppard Ave. East.
