

Fourth generation of the Campbells' of Shanty Bay, Oro/Medonte Twp, Simcoe County (from Islay, Scotland). Youngest son of the late Alexander Campbell and Agnes Ross. Lloyd passed away unexpectedly at home Tuesday July 22, 2008 in his 90th year. He is predeceased by his loving wife June Rose Campbell (1995) and by his brothers George, Ross and Fred.
A legacy of family love, respect, compassion, tolerance and generosity is cherished by his daughters Karen (Joe Walters), Collingwood and Allyson (Thomas MacKenzie), Ottawa and sons Alex (Linda), Toronto and James "Jamie" (Ardleigh), Bermuda and his grandchildren: Martin and Philip MacKenzie, Mitchell and Walker Campbell. His spirit lives in all of us.
Lloyd always felt that his life had been enriched greatly by his immediate and extended family, his friends and business colleagues. He was ever grateful to his parents, whose sacrifice enabled him to attend Queen's University, graduating in 1941 (B. Comm). He was a veteran of WWII in the RCAF, attached to RAF Coastal Command in the UK. Lloyd was a life member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, and held the position of Controller of Finance for the North York Board of Education from 1962 to 1983. He was awarded Canada's 125th Anniversary Commemorative Medal in 1992.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, July 27, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A service of remembrance will be held at Forest Grove United Church (43 Forest Grove Drive), on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. Private family interment, York Cemetery at a later date.
