March 19th, 1952 – May 27th, 2023
Lorne passed suddenly and peacefully on May 27th, 2023 after an unexpected cancer diagnosis at North York General Hospital. He is survived by children Daniel, Jennifer (Raffi) and grandchildren Alina, Aiden. He is also survived by siblings Janet, Ken.
Lorne has gone to rest with parents Dorothy and Lorne, and sister Mary-Lou.
Lorne will be remembered as a generous, selfless, loving father with a heart of pure gold at its very roots. He was the most comfortable of shoulders to cry on during tough times, extending his sympathy and soothing words of wisdom to those he cared for most. There was never a moment he did not have his loved ones’ best interests at the forefront of his mind; when asked just a couple of days before his passing what the most important thing to him was he responded, “my children being happy and healthy.”
Lorne’s creative intuition was evident in his entrepreneurial endeavours; including building a manufacturing company supplying piano benches to the largest piano retailers across North America. He lived for being on the water – whether at the cottage, boating or spending time in Florida in the winter. He followed the heat when he could and enjoyed basking in the sun.
A private funeral service will be held by the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation in Lorne’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
