Maria Georgeta Gheorghe

It is with great sorrow that the family of Maria Georgeta Gheorghe announces she passed away peacefully in her 94th year on August 26th at Mackenzie Health Hospital. She fought until the last minute but was ultimately overcome by the heart attack and ensuing medical issues. Loving mother to her children Marina Vladescu, Anca Greavu, Dana Fromunda and Dan Gheorghe (deceased). Loving grandmother to her grandchildren Alex Fromunda and Ruxandra Toma. Pre-deceased by her husband Stefan Gheorghe.

Maria led a full life in service of her children. She started out working in a Pharmacy, where she met her late husband. They married in 1950 and had 4 children together. She later worked as a lab technician and ultimately became a homemaker to care for her children and grandchildren. Even though she led a hard life she never let it get her down. She would find a solution to any problem and always had an idea of how to get out of a bind. In 1996 she moved to Canada where she lived out the rest of her days peacefully with her daughters. She will be greatly missed.

A celebration of Maria’s life will be held at R.S. Kane Funeral Home, Toronto. Visitation on Wednesday August 28th from 6-8pm and service on Thursday August 29th from 12:30 pm followed by burial at Glen Oaks Cemetery in Oakville.
