Passed away peacefully on August 9, 2008 at North York General Hospital at the age of 88. Cherished father of Brian (Jennifer) of Orillia and Marilyn (Ted) Lane of Kingston. Devoted grandfather of Matthew, Stephanie, and Meaghan and great-grandfather of Skye. Survived by his siblings Erna, Eric, and Oscar. Predeceased by his siblings Ernest, Philip, Otto, Val, Ida, Harold, Arthur, Ella, Millie, Henry, Katherine, Fred, John and Millie. Matt will be fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Friends may call on Friday, August 15, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Lung Association.
