Surrounded by her family, Minnie Chesson passed peacefully, after a long struggle with Dementia, on Saturday afternoon at the age of 89. Born in New Delhi, she was a world-class seamstress and an even better matriarch. She loved going on trips, cooking for special occasions, and having card game nights. But the thing she loved most was what all of those had in common - bringing her family together. There is nothing she loved more than having her family laugh, eat, and connect together. She was admired by her loved ones for many things, like her strength, jovial nature, and her ability to light up a room with one smile.
Minnie was born on June 29th, 1933. She was the youngest of 8 siblings. She immigrated to Canada in 1973. She started her first job at Penningtons before going to work for Simpsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neville. Minnie is survived by 2 sons and their spouses, Kersi and Jasmine, Sarosh and Claudia; grandchildren Jamie and Jennifer; and sister Jini.
Donations in Minnie's honor may be sent to Newmarket Health Centre Long Term Care.
