Dear Janet, Neil's parents, children, grandchild & extended family & friends....I grew up next to Neil's cousin, Debbie Butt. Neil & I were in elementary school together. I still remember what a sweet kid he was way back then. It was a shock to hear the news from Debbie. My sincere condolences to you, and to Debbie & her family. RIP Neil, gone too soon. xo

Neil came into my sisters life twenty years ago and was truly loved by us all.  We all admired his sense of calm, his willingness to help others in so many ways, whether it would be helping others move homes and set them up or having that listening ear when others needed it.  He was a quiet man with a tremendous amount of patience.
  Life on earth will have an emptiness without him, however, the fondness of memories will be kept alive forever.
  We will never forget the endless "potatoe or quarter" from the ear trick he would do with all the nieces and nephews,his "bear like" snoring that projected from their camp trailer in the summer at Killbear as you walked by, his funny little jokes that he would repeat often and his unique giggle.
  It brings a great deal of sadness to be writing these words and not being able to be hugging Neil as I am telling him that I am so thankful for him being a part of Janets and Jens life and the rest of our families and that we all Love him.
  Janet, we will be by both yours and Jens side always as our journey continues and until we will all be re-untied with Neil again.

We think often of our times together at Toromont, TransCanada, and just visiting at our homes, and this news has brought a lot of those memories forward like it was yesterday. We can hear each others laughter, and see each others smiles, and that is what we can all keep with us. Neil meets you and he instantly treated you with the kindness that a friend would do, if he had known you forever. I have fond memories,working together at the start of my TransCanada career. The sky has gotten a little brighter since you have left this world. I will truly miss your presence here. You have shared your wisdom and insight in so many ways.

When we have met across the discipline table, whether I was representing, or recieving the discipline, your knowledge, and experiences were such a breath of fairness. 

And for that my friend, I thank you. 

You have many opinions, and the discussions we shared to get me to understand them, I will truly miss. The calm perseverance you always showed when dealing with my stubborn ideals, was a true show of strength.

Sad news..We have lost such a fine man. My sister's husband, her soul mate, a father, a son in law, a son, an uncle, a brother in law and my friend. Anyone who had the honor of knowing Neil was surely blessed. The pain of his loss is hard to put in words. Neil will be in our hearts forever and will be so sadly missed. Our family was very fortunate to have Neil in our lives the past 20 years. He has left us with years of fond memories. Rest in peace Neil, Love you....Deb

Our deepest sympathies to the family. Those who knew Neil, knew him as a good man and good friend. Neil's subtle approach to life and sense of humour illuminated in all lives he touched. Neil rapidly escalated through the ranks within Viva, though I will always remember him as a driver first who always enjoyed a good joke and wore his heart on his sleeve.
