Nils Lennart Lood

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nils Lennart Lood on December 13, 2016 at the age of 83 years due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. Nils was a loving husband to Anne-Marie, a devoted father to Peter (Carina) and Jonas (Diane), an adored Farfar to his grandchildren, Eva, Britta, and Jonas, and a cherished brother to Hans, Lars, and Bo. Nils was born and raised in Malmö, Sweden. He attended Lund University and was a very successful executive in several companies in Sweden. In 1980, Nils was promoted to CEO to operate a Swedish multinational in North America. They settled in the Don Mills area for many happy years. Nils enjoyed skiing, golfing at Bayview Country Club, and savouring excellent food and wine with family, friends, and especially the Swedish Champagne Club. In his later years, Nils was devoted to spending quality time with his family and his faithful companion Tucker. He will be remembered as a man of great intellect, integrity, compassion, and humour. Donations in his name to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada would be appreciated. A celebration of his life will be planned for the new year. Funeral arrangements will be private.
