

Passed away peacefully at Mackenzie House, Palliative Care unit in his 88th year. Much loved husband of Anne (Donnelly), cherished father of Pamela (Phil), John (Anne), Debbie (Craig), Rick (Tricia), Joanne (Rob) and Michelle (Eileen). Loving Grandfather to Tyler, Tori, Stephanie, Ryan, Walker, Bailee, Jacob, Sam, Peter, Carrol Anne and Jessica. Brother-in-law to Lynne (Askey) and John (Donnelly).
Norm was born in Toronto and graduated from Humberside Collegiate where he was quarterback of the football team and a member of the swim team. Norm was one of the first Canadians to obtain his CPM (Certified Property Manager) designation from the Real Estate Institute in the United States. He was a successful entrepreneur and independent business owner for over 25 years, establishing Spartan Realty Management in Don Mills when he was 25 years old. Later in his career Norm held numerous leadership positions with John Oakes & Associates, Royal LePage Management Services/Brookfield Management. Norm also enjoyed sharing his knowledge and humour teaching Property Management courses at George Brown College for over 9 years. In retirement Norm remained active with the Condominium Corporation in the building he resided in, serving on the Board of Directors and Operations Committee.
Norm’s sport of choice was golf and he played as long as his health allowed into his late seventies. He often said the Church of Golf would be his religion on choice. Norm loved to dance and sing and was known for his sense of humour and dry wit.
A celebration of Norm’s life will be held on Friday, January 6th at Thornhill Golf & Country Club, 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Donations can be made to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
