James passed peacefully (with his daughter by his side after a six week stay in the hospital) on September 16, 2022 at Credit Valley Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Irene Penrose, his children Margot Penrose (UK), Brett Penrose of the UK (Angela Rowland), Julie Duncan (Paul Duncan), his grandchildren Rose-Marie Penrose (UK) and Dominic Penrose of the UK (Gemma), and great grandchildren Katie Jane (UK) and Amelia Penrose (UK).
James will be remembered for his love of gardening (especially roses), his needlework pictures, and his computer abilities.
