Bob had a remarkable 80 year life with Lois (his wife of 50 years who passed in July of 2006), their four children Bryan (Nancy), Susan (Rob), Jane (Stephen), and Paul (Marlene). Bob's 14 grandchildren - Michael, Reid, David, Brendan, Danielle, Jaclyn, Stephen, Matthew, JD, Edward, Hayley, Melissa, Claudia, and Robert who were all fortunate to have known their Poppa well, as they enjoyed special trips to Florida or just knowing that he was truly interested in their lives, and their futures.
As cherished as Bob was as a family man he was also incredibly respected in business. With his older brother Bill, their father Eddie, and later Barry, Bruce and sister Barbara they founded and created Black's Cameras.
Black's Photography, as it later became known, was a Canadian institution respected and trusted by families for over 50 years.
Having retired by 1998, Bob and Lois, enjoyed winters in Delray Beach, Florida and summers at Beacon Hall in Aurora where Bob had the chance to thoroughly enjoy several of his passions. Bob was an avid sportsman, and truly appreciated the great outdoors.
It is safe to say that Robert was a caring, peaceful, and God conscious man. He will be missed, remembered and never forgotten, as a man who gave more than he received.
Special thanks to the very committed staff on the 5th floor, and the CCU at Southlake, including the array of doctors who worked diligently to make Bob's last days comfortable.
