Robert Ian Page Cameron

Cameron- Robert Ian Page (Bob)-Bob passed away at York Central Hospital after a short illness on August 31, 2010. He will be forever missed by his son Jamie, son Dugald (Lynn) daughter Nancy Merkel (David). Grandchildren Colin (Lisa), Duncan, Graham (Carrie McInnes) Cameron, Leigh, Sandy, Sophie Cameron, Andrew and Eric Merkel. Bob Graduated from U.T.S. (University of Toronto School) and the University of Toronto in 1938. Bob went overseas as a Lieutenant in March of 1943. He landed on Juno Beach, Normandy, "D" day June 6, 1944 and fought through Europe with the 3rd Canadian Division. In 1946 Bob married his sweetheart Betty Beaton (D. September 12, 2009) and together raised a family. Bob had a love for flowers and founded GardenImport with his son Dugald and daughter-in-law Lynn Pashleigh in 1983. He was an active member of the Badminton and Racquet club of Toronto. A Remembrance Service will be held at R.S. Kane Funeral Home(6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles), on Wednesday September 8, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to U.T.S. or York Central Hospital.
