Shirley Jane Patrick

Shirley Jane Patrick nee Stark, 85, of Thornhill, Ontario died peacefully on November 23, 2013 at Mackenzie Health in Richmond Hill with family at her side. Born March 31, 1928 in Toronto she is predeceased by her parents, William and Elsie Stark and her husband, Roy Patrick.

The trait that stands out the most is her unwavering courage. She seemed to be able to face any adversity with an enormous amount of bravery. She never complained even though at times she was bombarded with one health issue after another. She seemed to bounce back each and every time with a smile on her face and a brilliant attitude.

Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. Forever missed by her 3 sons, Jeff (Mary), Tim (Trish) and Bruce (Victoria), brother John (Nancy), 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Shirley will be greatly missed by her many lifelong friends and their children as well as the many friends made as she travelled through life. Thank you all for your visits and messages.

At Shirley's request there will not be a funeral service. The family will be holding a "Celebration of Shirley's Life" in the near future.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Dialysis Department and the porters at Mackenzie Health with whom she made many friends. Also we would like to extend our gratitude to the staff on the 5th floor of Mackenzie Health Long Term Care for their support in her final days.
