It brings us great sadness to announce that our much-loved Siu-ming Ho, father, husband, uncle, brother, and friend, left us so suddenly. Predeceased by his parents, the late Kang Ho and Kwei Yung Ko, his late sister, Helen Kam, and late brother, Ivan. Survived by his wife, Assunta, daughter, Winnie (Thomas), son, James, and brothers: Richard and Henry (Shirley).
He attended National Taiwan University and later MIT, where he completed his PhD in pure mathematics and met his life partner, Assunta Yuan Chee. He made lifelong friendships from childhood, university, family, and work. He had many roles in his life at The University of Toronto, York University, Honeywell, Sperry Univac, Bell Canada, and IBM. He wore many hats but he always had a generous smile, a love of cooking, and a heart for family and friends. Gatherings were his joy and happiness! He was larger than life, a character, the best father, husband, brother, uncle, and cousin, and will be sadly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life for Simon. Visitation will be held on Sunday November 21 from 2 pm to 6 pm and Monday November 22 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Funeral procession and burial will be on Monday November 22 from 10:30 am at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, followed by York Cemetery in North York.
