Steve Istvan Rozinka

August 20, 1937 – June 10, 2025

Istvan (Pista) Rozinka, age 87, of Pickering ON, passed away suddenly June 10, 2025, at home with his family by his side. With courage he battled through numerous health issues over the past several years He now takes his heavenly rest by the grace of God, covered by The Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Istvan was born in Ajak, Hungary in 1937. In 1957, he immigrated to Toronto as a refugee at the age of 19. He met and then married his wife Rose in 1959. Istvan will be remembered as a loving father who was devoted to his family and friends and had a very interesting sense of humor. He loved being a part of the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church’s couples club with his wife Rose. He loved the Toronto Maple Leafs (probably watched every game), European Soccer (especially the World Cup), watching Catholic television and playing billiards in his younger years. Istvan is survived by his wife Rose Rozinka of 65years, his children Erika Cabrera Vale (Nelson), Rosemary Tallon (Ron), grandchildren Olivia Kari Kari (Kofi), Christopher Rozinka, Haysi Cernea (Addy), Ebelin Sanchez (Orlendys), great-grandchildren Kai, Violet, Anton, God sons Steve Rozinka, Alex Agardi, William Banlaki, and many friends and family throughout Canada and Hungary. Istvan joins in eternal life his parents Bertalan and Maria Rozinka, his brother Bertalan Rozinka (Maria) and his sisters Gizella, Irma and Anna.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Oshawa General Hospital for their compassionate care.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025,

4-8 p.m. at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 8088 Yonge St. Thornhill, ON L4J 6W6.

The funeral church service will be held Friday, June 20, 2025 at 12 p.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church 432 Sheppard Ave. E., North York, ON M2N 3B7
