Dear All, so very sorry to hear the sad news about Uncle Tom. So many memories to remember him by, the visits to Aunty Mary's and Grandma's. We always looked forward to his visits, they were such fun always full of laughter & excitement. Phone calls happened and it didn't really matter what time of night it was here in England ........they really just consisted of jokes.....but we didn't mind, It was Uncle Tom! Our thoughts & prayers are with you all at this time. Rest In Peace Uncle Tom and say hello to my Dad for me.....I'm sure he'll be waiting at the gates of heaven to help you on your way.....brothers together again. Love Susan, Richard & Family xxxxxx

My sincere condolences to all of you, our family in Canada, on the death of Uncle Tom. I have many memories of him, in particular the times when I stayed with him on holiday in 1970 and 1974 plus all those trips when he came over to England to stay with Mum and Dad, the parties, the days out and of course the trips to the Bryn. One great memory is the pact he made with me over my first trip to Canada in 1970 . In order for me to have spending money for my trip over he said if I would write to him he would reply enclosing a dollar with every reply. Little did I know that not only would I get the reply and the dollar ............... but also my own letter returned with the spelling and grammar corrections all underlined in RED! Still it did get me my spending money for my trip. Another great memory was my Dad complaining every time Uncle Tom called because he always spoke to everyone in the house at the time and had to tell us all a joke, even though Dad wasn't paying for the call he would shout to Uncle Tom "hey Tom this call is costing a pound a minute! save the jokes for when you come over" The tales of his trips over here could go on for ever suffice to say we all loved Uncle Tom coming to visit and always had great fun, he was certainly a memory maker for us. I hope that you are all bearing up, that the funeral is well attended. I'm sorry not to be able to attend but I will be thinking of you all tomorrow. My love and sympathies, P.x

I am so, so sad to hear the news that Uncle Tom passed away on Monday. Sending all our love to all of his family in Canada, especially Elaine, Tom, Jim and Vincent. He was a very special man, kind and generous every time I visited him, and I will never forget him. I have lots of treasured memories of him, which I will always keep with me. I was really sorry to hear about Uncle Tom passing away on Monday. It brought back so many happy memories. The excitement when we were kids of being told Uncle Tom is coming over, he was always very funny and made us laugh. His hospitality when we went to visit him with Lisa and Adam, the barbecues were great. It was the first time my children had had marshmallows melted on the barbecue, a tradition they still do now.
