It is with great sadness that the Pal family announce the passing of Tibor at Southlake Village on June 24th, 2014, in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Sylvia, and devoted father to his three 'chiefs', David (Tania), Jason, and Kevin (Mary Kate). Proud and loving grandpa to Gabriella, Kaitlin, Lucas, Aleksandar, Madeline and Michael.
Predeceased by his two brothers and a sister in Hungary.
Tibor was an adventurous soul who left Hungary during the Hungarian uprising in 1956, completed his engineering degree in Vienna, and who lived and worked in Austria and Australia before settling in Canada in 1967. He was a respected Consulting Structural Engineer and was particularly proud of his work on Ontario Place and the Winter Garden Theatre.
He was, above all, a man who loved his family deeply, and found his peace in nature. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Southlake Village for their excellent care, kindness and support.
Friends may call at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street (at Goulding, South of Steeles) on Thursday June 26th, 2014, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel Friday June 27th, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tibor's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or Southlake Village Longterm Care.
